About this journal
This Journal is the place I tend to write my general thoughts and feelings about all things in life....as they cross my path.

Friday Five for 09 May 2008

Friday Five for 09 May 2008

This week's set was suggested by </a></b></a>[info]beethovenette87.

1. If you knew that you had only one day left to live, what would you do for the 24 hours?
A) I'd get my things in order so that those left behind would have a handle on everything. I guess I'm assuming I had all my abilities about me at that point....but I'd try to be as unselfish about it as possible. But then, I wouldn't just hole away documenting either....I'm sure there would be others who would be worried about me, and want to make sure I had the best last day possible....so I would probably also do things with them...to make sure they never felt that hadn't neglected me or in any way let me down.

Life is about people and relationships....right up to an including the last day I suppose......

2. Do you think that life has meaning?
A) I'm not exactly following you...but of course it has a purpose.....perhaps not totally divine....and certainly not one that you yourself can't direct. (in a positive or negative way)

Yes...there are those who waste every breath that they are given in life, and seem to accomplish so little.....but then, sometimes accomplishment is in the  eye of the beholder too.

The world is a big puzzle....and finding our place in it all is always the trick....whether at graduation time, or retirement....all through life.

3. What was your favourite childhood toy/object, or some of your favourites?
(Remember childhood according to the United Nations is anywhere from 0-18 years, so this is a fairly broad span of time).
A) As a young kid, I have been told that I loved my "Playmobile".......I certainly loved to sled and play hockey as I grew up....skating in general I guess.

Riding bikes.....always a great liberating thing for me.

Right along those lines was my first car.....not exactly a toy, but again a very liberating, freedom creating thing. I loved it.
(1972 Ford Pinto....rust bucket)

4. When you clasp your hands, do you put your right thumb over your left thumb, or your left thumb over your right thumb?
A) Right thumb over left....I was taught to pray that way....perhaps just a Catholic thing I suppose.

5. If you had to teach the most ignorant person on earth the most difficult thing you have ever learned, how would you go about doing it?
A) I would first make sure we got to know each other.....personally....because it would be clear to me that we would both have our patience tested, and it might be easier to live through if we knew each other...had a bit invested in each other before hand.

I would also make it clear to them that this thing we are going to try and learn (teach) is the toughest thing I know...and it will be hard for me to teach it. I'd make it clear that the difficulties we would experience together would be as much mine as their.....it is after all the toughest thing I ever learned....and so I'm sure I'm probably not the best to teach it.

Other than that...I tend to be a visual learner.....so I would start with visual, hands-on work. But I also know that others are different....so I'd try to find out how they learn....and try to adjust my approach accordingly.

Current Mood: contemplative contemplative
